The first moon of the year 2022, known as the Wolf Moon, was a wonderful sight here in South East Wales. A photographer in Italy captured a moving flight of starlings over the city of Rome last Monday against the backdrop of the Full Moon (seen on BBC webpage). The pattern of their flight uncannily made a picture of a wolf’s head, or even a horse’s head. This moon is about shape-shifting: birds become a wolf, a counsellor I know becomes a gardener . . . This moon says that you are not simply the picture of you that the world sees, there’s another you that you can shift into.
I will be doing just that when Crickhowell Open Studios happens at the beginning of June – writer shifts to painter. This long weekend will coincide with the celebrations about the Queen’s 70-year reign. Watch this space. During this moon’s 28-day phase why not look at your own shifting patterns!
Those interested in the magic of numbers will tell you that 2022 is a 6-year – the number of healing, the bee and honey. There is so much in our world that needs both healing and the sustenance of the bee’s hard work. Wishing the best to all my readers!
