Natural Spirituality

The Natural World
A whole new vocabulary emerges in the new millennium: global warming, climate change, going green, eco-friendly, carbon footprint, etc. We are encouraged to be aware of the power of Nature as a force to shape life on this planet. Indigenous peoples throughout the world have been imploring us to cooperate with nature, to see the sacred face of the natural world, to show respect.

We are one with Nature and Nature is one with us. It has suited generations worldwide to use a range of excuses to deny this in order to dominate and exploit. Today we are rediscovering our relationship with the natural world as we discover that Nature is essential for our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

Ceremony
It was ceremony with its colours, sounds and scents that made my early religious experiences memorable. Later, working with Native American medicine people, of both genders, reminded me how ceremony was missing in our lives and how it would enhance my healing work with groups. Workshops and gatherings have always included ceremony.

Brown Bear Dreaming Lodge
An introduction to the Bear spirit that had been present at my birth led to my forming the Brown Bear Dreaming Lodge – a teaching circle involving ceremony, healing and natural spirituality.
The hundreds of wonderful people who have walked the Red Road with me have given me endless inspiration and helped me in my own development as a person. My thanks to you all.
